MIC FERRANTE
Micangelo Ferrante, 22 (July 24, 2002), is an aspiring film composer, songwriter, pianist, conductor, sound-designer, and music producer from classical and jazz to the hip-hop and EDM realms. Mic is a graduate of the University of Southern California with a B.M. in Classical Composition (2024). He is currently a mentee of legendary film composer Thomas Newman under the USC Dean’s Circle Mentorship Program. He is a recipient of the 2021 BMI Student Composer Awards and the Carlos Surinach Prize (honoring the youngest winner of the competition).
Mic has recorded with musicians and orchestras in Budapest, England, Vietnam, and Indonesia for various short films, football stadium music, and the concert hall. He has collaborated on and scored 17 student and indie films as a USC student, including the “Arrival of the Trojans” Colosseum Jumbotron Video for the USC Football Team. Mic was a 2019/20 fellow of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Nancy and Barry Sanders Composer Fellowship Program under the direction of Andrew Norman and the L.A. Philharmonic. Mic’s passion for non-profit work has allowed him to perform throughout Vietnam and coordinate numerous charity events, as well as at home, organizing and leading a benefits concert for Education Through Music-LA with Victoria Lanier. He also has completed commissions for concert music from Los Angeles to New York City.
Aside from music, he coaches for his Burbank little league football team and enjoys spending time with his family and the 𝘣𝘰𝘺𝘴.
